East Acton Hotel

Our design for a new 129-key hotel as an important new addition to the high street in East Acton. The proposed new building will terminate the run of commercial and civic buildings on the west side of Old Oak Common Lane and form a pair with the nearby Catholic Church of St Aidan, to complete an informal composition of larger buildings abutting smaller ones. The project received planning approval in December 2023.

The brick and terracotta materials and their composition are intended to be a distinctive but complementary contemporary interpretation of the varied architectural styles of the neighbourhood. The projecting ground floor terrace creates a varied and active frontage to the high street, with the primary entrance featuring a distinctive faience-tiled framed arched doorway in a rich contrasting colour. The three central bays form a sheltered protected area for outdoor seating.
