People spend more of their waking hours at work than anywhere else, so a workplace deserves the same care as a home. We design from the inside out: around the people who use it.
At Methodist Church House in Bloomsbury, we converted a late Victorian building into the Methodist Church’s new headquarters: offices for a hundred staff, meeting suites and a roof terrace, with a new lift core threaded through the existing structure. At the British Veterinary Association, the question was the opposite: the organisation had outgrown its Grade II* listed Adam townhouse and was considering a move. Instead, we gave the building level access, a lift and rationalised offices, and its staff now use the rooms as they would at home.
For iQ, we designed their flagship headquarters by Tower Bridge: an amenity-led workplace built around hybrid working. A welcoming reception, flexible social spaces and an open-plan floor of multipurpose meeting rooms are matched by responsibly sourced materials and energy-efficient systems, with views over the river throughout.
The test, as ever, is the people: a workplace that works is one its occupants would choose to be in.
