Hospitality is where atmosphere becomes the brief. We’re drawn to the eccentric, the unexpected, the experimental.
At The Mandrake, we turned a Fitzrovia office building into a boutique hotel with a hidden haven at its heart: a three-storey hanging garden of jasmine and passion flowers. The hotel has since won a string of awards, including Best London Boutique Hotel and the Architecture Today Awards 2023.
DAMU is a cave-like spa whose Origin Pool recreates the womb, balancing temperature, zero gravity and a drone choir inside a sealed chamber. CoOc, a private members’ club beneath the city, is a nocturnal playground for hedonists and libertines.
Not everything is theatrical. At The Five Fields, a discreet Chelsea restaurant, we retained the facade of a conservation-area building and dug a new basement for the kitchens. Whatever the scale, we work closely with chefs, operators and interior designers to get the small things right.
