Festival Of Love

Design, fabrication and installation of site-wide 3-dimensional signage and wayfinding for London’s Southbank Centre. We took inspiration from the monolithic concrete columns of the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the skaters who have long made their home in its spray-painted undercroft. Conceived, designed, built and installed in less than 4 weeks, the structures had to be simple, tough and quick to fabricate.

“Within just 4 weeks, Manalo & White conceived, constructed and installed a family of bold and welcoming structures that cleverly knitted together our site-wide festival to create maximum impact across the Southbank.”

Head of Festival Site Design, Southbank Centre

“If you have ever imagined a distant future where humans live among the remains of today’s architectural landmarks, then pay a visit to the Southbank Centre, where the heptagonal supporting columns of Queen Elizabeth Hall have been reimagined as a series of fragmented ruins.”
