The Malt Works

Leith is the old maritime centre of Edinburgh, and the Port of Leith is steeped in shipping history. This is expressed in our design through the use of textured acoustic wall and ceiling features, perforated metal and a colour palette which references the warm rust tones of the shipyard. Throughout the space, historic photographs of the Port add to this overarching theme.

Beyond the port, the local area is a vibrant backdrop with a wealth of colour, pattern and unique features which inspired our design approach, which aims to create a calming and welcoming environment for the mature postgraduate residents.

We optimised the use of the space to incorporate a reception, lounge, study area, pool lounge, screen room, private dining and gym.
